Pretending Itโ€™s A Sunny Day

Track #1

from the album Sunrise

3:11

An upbeat acoustic rock song about a personโ€™s ability to mentally check out of difficult or stressful everyday situations they find themselves in by closing their eyes and going away to an easy and carefree situation in which they are in a new beautiful place based on fond memories.

"Pretending It's A Sunny Day"

Written by Scott Cooley

When I think of a sunrise, I always think of you

Coffee on the swing, a view of water so smooth

With the world waking up, listening for a loon

Making plans for a luminous afternoon

When Iโ€™m stuck inside and the sky is overcast gray

In my mind I can see you and I out on a brilliant bay

I visualize leaving darkness behind and sailing away

To my happy place, pretending itโ€™s a sunny day

Remembering summers with you on the lake

From heavens of blue soaking in the rays

Slowly floating with the wind over waves

Radiant smiles in a yellow-orange haze

When Iโ€™m stuck inside and the sky is overcast gray

In my mind I can see you and I out on a brilliant bay

I visualize leaving darkness behind and sailing away

To my happy place, pretending itโ€™s a sunny day

Seasonal depression, it really happens

When it feels like youโ€™re trapped in Barrow, Alaska

Daydreaming, just picture the sunโ€™s corona

You can transport yourself to Yuma, Arizona

When Iโ€™m stuck inside and the sky is overcast gray

In my mind I can see you and I out on a brilliant bay

I visualize leaving darkness behind and sailing away

To my happy place, pretending itโ€™s a sunny day

I'm in my happy place, pretending itโ€™s a sunny day
